| Because our house
is over 100 years old, and not very large ... we have made the best with
what square footage we have. This former coop was falling apart when we
first moved here. We restructured the roof, added to the walls so they
were actually vertical put in tons of insulation and a heating unit.
When the puppies are weaned we move them out to the coop so that they
can have large space in which to play. We feel it's better to bring them
to the coop where we have the room for the play equipment we have built
and purchased, they learn about the puppy door which starts the house
breaking process. The ideal would be if this space was attached to my
kitchen, but because I spend so much time with them in the coop, they do
not suffer a moment of neglect. Puppies born during the warm months get
to spend a lot of time with me outside exploring. But even those that
are born in the colder months come down to the horse barn, and out into
the riding ring whenever possible. |
