Because we live with as many as 12 Ridgebacks at a time, instead of using crates when we leave home, we use indoor outdoor kennels. We modified the garage to house 4 runs that are 9 feet wide x 6 feet deep inside, over 100 feet long outside. When we are out of town for National Specialties or the elusive vacation ;-) We have a pet sitter come to feed water and exercise the dogs that could not come with us. We use the kennels to keep males and females separated during seasons.

Make no mistake ... despite having so many large dogs, they are all pets and all get considerable amount of time and energy from both Chris and I. We think the kennel situation is best for the times we can't be with them, they can come and go, in and out on their own as they need to.
