Back-Our Males

Sherman finishes his Championships with his third Major by going Best of Winners July 29th, 2001.

Sherman is the pick liver nose male from Zola's first litter. He was sold to an  out of state couple with young children. They agreed to let us show him to his championship. They also agreed that they would socialize him as a young dog, exposing him to 3 or more new people and places every week.  Sherman was a good dog, he had respect for everyone in the family including one of the couples young sons. However,  Sherman played too rough with the other son, he would knock him over and the young boy would scream because he was frightened. Sherman never hurt  the boy, he was young, strong and full of energy as all Ridgeback puppies are.

The families solution was to separate Sherman from the children and therefore the entire family. The dog was outside in the yard when the kids were in the house, then Sherman was in a crate when the kids were outside. Sherman was secluded from new people and experience for more than a year.

Sherman was not doing well with this situation, he wasn't happy, and neither was the family. So we purchased Sherman back and he was rehoused with a our friend and vet Dr. Ray Caughman of Dogwood Animal Hospital, in Lawrenceville Georgia.

It's been a long road back for Sherman, but he has flourished with Dr. Caughman.
