Over the years we have placed only a few of our finished champions that we have raised and shown ourselves. In 1case, they did not pass their thyroid testing, (hypothyroidism is common in the breed) and so they should not be bred. In other cases, such as Cuba and Emma, we think they are fabulous pets, very handsome and attractive, that have no health issues but they do have minor conformation faults. It's a very difficult decision to make, but sometimes those minor faults are persistent and difficult to correct with breeding, so we choose not use them, but use their siblings instead to carry on that pedigree line. In yet other cases, we have had older dogs returned, typically when the owners start to have children, and we as RRCUS breeders must take them back and find them new homes, that's the case for Timber and Cayenne.

Timber/Cayenne - Sulawesi's Fallen Timber & Sulawesi's Series II -

Timber and Cayenne are shinning examples of how older dogs can be the perfect solution for some owners. They live up north with a family that thought they were interested in a puppy, instead they lovingly welcomed two older dogs that needed them, and everyone couldn't be happier! Thank you for providing them with everything they needed, and for opening your hearts up to two dogs ...

Cuba - Champion Sulawesi's Cultural Infidel

Cuba is loving his new family where he gets to sleep on the bed EVERY night, and has a small friend named Pickles, a short legged JRT.
